My Weekend...
...wasn't that great, bordered between intense internal ranting & raving and external grumblings with scattered burst of joy every now and then...what a 'break'.
How should I summarise it? By day and time, in sequential? Or by what pops into my head, maybe categorised?
F&B
Excellent Frozen Strawberry Margharita at Tangos at Holland Village. No more green-lipped mussels but local ones, cooked in white wine which was a tad salty. Unmemorable Deep Fried Spring Chicken and Fish & Chips (couldn't get my Carbonara)
Got interrupted, had to make a retrospective entry that standardised meal was served...hmm...4 days back. Yup, SOP in my line of work. Of cos' I need to get out!?!
CPK on Sat, to use up my $10 dough voucher. Smashed pea with barley soup, a bowl is good for 2 (Not salty enough lol), shrimp roll with bits of vege and strands of pasta served chilled with a tangy sauce. Yummy Peking Duck Pizza, sadly, they ran out of thin crusts but it was still ok (Was wondering why can't they just roll out the dough??).
Ate too much so had only fish soup for dinner on Sun. Lunch was a heavy meal of home-cooked cream of mushroom and Seafood linguine.
Talk Shop
Got a bit enthusiatic in this department but was happily restrained by yours truely as 1) I have yet to strike Toto 2) I've not negotiated the T&Cs yet. Still I managed to buy a sweet pink 'Safari' shirt for work. Can't believe I actually paid more than 50 for it :P
Got a small dehumidifier for my wardrobe which I strongly believe is insufficient.
The original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory starring Gene Hackman (Watched it on RTM 2 when I stayed home sick from school).
Rented 5 movies from Videoezy: Blade Trinity, Shall We dance, Ocean's Twelve, Hotel Rwanda and Sideways whcih we've been wanting to watch. Realised that there's a long list of 'Must-watch'
Drama of the month is compliments of an imbibed individual who has greatly affected my life in as many forms as possible. It is a case of 'chao buey kee'; unavoidable incident, that was like a timebomb (or timeboom as some might say). When another few are let into this dark haunting, the disturbed feeling started once again. What is the colour of shame? Anger? Love? Hate? Despair? Avoidance? It'll be an ugly rainbow. No pot of gold at the other end but maybe clues to the puzzle. Talk is cheap, you wanna experience it? You may live to tell the tale or may not. You may even be an over-achiever which I am certainly am not. I am thankful, grateful even...most times, but I do hate facing it. Why do they always think their stories are the worst, that they had a real bad experience?? Would they like mine? I know mine is not the worst-case scenario and I do not like it as my conversation topic. I am not over it but I can handle it. So get a good grip of youself, that yours was never that bad. Dont' blame it for whatever actions or consequences you made or need to face. A lesson to be learnt and indeed I have learnt. About weaknesses and temptations. Principles and morals and most of all I learned about pride. Now, I just need to learn to forgive.
Once upon a time, there lived Self-Righteouness who is a pain in the ass and loves to go around saying 'Hi, I'm Right and you're Wrong.' Then the nasty sibling named Finger pointing who is really a personification of art as apologises are rare though the talent is in informing you about issues i.e. what you should have done, ought to do or have done. And lastly, cousin Self-Praise whose sentence always begins with 'I'm good, ooh so good at....' or 'I did..., I was..., I...'
